Romantic Comedy Posters - Billing Analysis

Billing blocks are an important convention of film posters, but I have noticed that some form of billing (often in a different font to that which appears on posters) frequently appears in trailers, usually towards the end.

I am going to analyse the billing blocks for the romantic comedy films This is 40 and The 40-Year-Old Virgin to get an idea of the order in which the names of companies, the names of the film and the names of cast/crew appear. This will help me when I come to create my billing.

• The production companies come first in the billing in both of the romantic comedies - 'Universal Pictures'
• Then comes the name of the director
• Next, either the main stars, or, the film title
• Then, names of other stars
• Crew members
• Finishing with 'produced by', 'written by' and 'directed by'
